Lisa Marshall

Professional Leader
Lisa has been at Capital City Preschool for 17 years. Lisa strongly believes in the importance of Early Childhood Education and is passionate about celebrating children’s uniqueness and culture, and she loves photography and technology. Lisa believes in using technology to enhance and extend children’s strengths, interests and passions and to promote reflective thinking. Lisa enjoys travel and spending time with her friends and family, and is the proud mother of two young tamariki.
Debi Savill

Education Leader
Debi is our Centre Manager and has been teaching at Capital City Preschool for the past 15 years. Debi leads our curriculum design and our collaborative and respectful teaching team. Debi is committed to nurturing our wonderful kaiako to be leaders. Debi is a fantastic artist and her creativity nurtures our tamariki to express themselves through their artwork. Debi is a proud nana to 3 beautiful mokopuna, and her weekends are spent with whānau and renovating her beautiful cottage.
Karen Otic

Senior Teacher
Karen began teaching at Capital City in January 2020 and is excited to be a part of our learning community. Karen has been working with children and their families in Wellington for the last 8 years both as a teacher and a manager and through this she has developed a very strong passion for working collaboratively with all ākonga (children, parents and teachers) in creating a fun, meaningful and engaging learning environment for all. Karen is passionate about keeping fit through training, cooking different dishes, travelling and meeting new people.
Kristiana Denford-Deck

Kristiana has been teaching in ECE for the last 28 years and is a married mother of four grown children all in their 20’s. Kristiana joined Capital City Preschool in 2017 and has loved sharing her passion for fostering children’s literacy development by exposing children to a range of authors and early literacy activities. Kristiana is also passionate about building children’s resilience and social competency and ensuring children see themselves as capable, confident and competent learners.
Sang Eun Park

Sang Eun has been teaching since 1997 with unconditional love and passion towards children. Teaching has been foremost in her life. Sang Eun studied Western Fine art and Child Psychology in art and three years ago, she came to New Zealand from South Korea and studied Early Childhood education to be a qualified teacher here in New Zealand. Sang Eun has also pursued her dream of becoming a children’s book author, she has written and illustrated children’s books, two of which have been published. Sang Eun joined Capital City Preschool in September 2019.
Courtney Thomson

Courtney joined Capital City Preschool in 2005 as a new Graduate. After 5 years Courtney moved to Melbourne and later returned to New Zealand to raise her family on the Kapiti Coast. 4 years ago we were absolutely delighted when Courtney announced her return to Preschool. Courtney is a fun, and enthusiastic teacher who brings with her a passion for physical education and nutrition.
Ruby Scott

Ruby joined our teaching team in February 2020. Ruby has recently graduated with a Masters in Teaching and Learning (Primary). Ruby believes that finding and drawing upon learners’ motivation and interests is essential for engagement, therefore knowing her learners’ is an integral part of her teaching in order to develop and nurture their lifelong love of learning. Ruby is really looking forward to being a part of our Preschool community and learning about our play based curriculum. When not at Preschool, Ruby enjoys outdoor activities, going to the gym and spending time with loved ones.
Katy O’Leary

Relief Teacher
Katy has been teaching for 4 years in both the US and Thailand and joined our team in March 2019 as one of our regular relievers. Katy is passionate about mental health and social-emotional well-being. When not teaching at the Preschool, Katy is studying for her Masters in Psychology at Victoria University. Once she graduates, Katy hopes to create a social-emotional curriculum to help support student well-being in schools.
Narisara Nixon

Narisara joined Capital City Preschool in April 2019 as one of our regular relievers. Narisara had been teaching in Thailand and the US for the last for 17 years before starting a family. After moving to Wellington in 2019, Narisara joined our team and we have loved her contribution to our science and art curriculums’. Narisara is also passionate about supporting children to build confidence and their ability to achieve both academically and socially.
Zofia Zawada

Zofia joined our reliving team in October 2018 after completing a Teaching Experience with us. Zofia is currently in her final year studying towards her Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (ECE) at Victoria University.
Tracy Daniels

Finance Administrator
Tracy joined our team in 2011 as our Finance Administrator, providing administration and financial support to the teaching team and Board of Trustess. Tracy began her journey working with Early Childhood Sector in 2000 when her twin boys were 2 years old, 20 years later, Tracy continues to love working in the ECE sector and is passionate about working with not-for-profit organisations like us. Today Tracy works for three Early Childhood Centre’s and enjoys having 3 grown children.
